Vector Ballistic — Privacy Policy

Who publishes this app

Vector Ballistic is developed and published by MVL Design Solutions ("we," "us"). This policy explains what happens with your information when you use the Vector Ballistic app on Android or iOS.

Data you enter into the app

Your reload log entries, weapon profiles, shot groups, and settings are stored locally on your device only. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, or has access to this data. We cannot see it, and we do not want to.

Manual backup & restore

Settings → Backup & Restore lets you export a single backup file containing your reload log, weapon profiles, and shot groups, and later import it back. This file is created and handled entirely by your device's own share sheet — you choose where it goes (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, AirDrop, or anywhere else your device offers). We never receive a copy of this file, and importing it only ever reads from a file you select.

Location

If you grant location permission, it is used for two features, and for nothing else:

• Map Mode rangefinder — uses your device's GPS to recenter the on-screen map and to compute distance and bearing to a point you tap. This stays entirely on your device and is never sent anywhere.
• Weather-aware ballistic solves — when you use location-based weather lookup, your device's coordinates are sent directly to Open-Meteo, a third-party weather data provider, solely to retrieve current conditions for your area. This request goes straight from your device to Open-Meteo — Vector Ballistic does not store, log, or see this location data itself. Open-Meteo's handling of that request is governed by their own privacy practices, not ours.

Location permission is optional. The app's core ballistics calculator works fully without it — you can always enter weather conditions manually instead.

Map tiles

Map Mode displays map imagery using OpenStreetMap tiles, fetched over the internet as you pan and zoom. This is standard behavior for any on-screen map and does not involve sending your reload log, profiles, or personal information — only the map area currently on screen.

What we don't do

• No user accounts or sign-in — there is nothing to create an account for.
• No analytics or usage-tracking SDKs of any kind.
• No advertising, and no ad SDKs.
• No crash-reporting or third-party diagnostics services.
• We do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers, because we don't collect it in the first place.

Children's privacy

Vector Ballistic is a ballistics and handloading tool intended for adult shooting sports use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date above.
